Chris Paul, Dwyane Wade & Carmelo Anthony’s Social Change Fund Teams with Beyond Meat to Combat Racial Inequality

NBA Legends and three-fourths of the Banana Boat Crew, Chris Paul, Dwayne Wade, and Carmelo Anthony, along with a group of Black industry executives have united to create The Social Change Fund. The group is targeting consistent issues in racial injustice. The new Fund is partnering with Beyond Meat to continue fighting disparities in the Black community and beyond.

Beyond Meat is a leader in plant-based meat companies that in partnership with Social Change will work to accelerate social change and sustainably build a fair, equitable society. This partnership follows the company’s recent Feed a Million+ pledge, in which it exceeded its initial commitment of donating one million meals to provide over 5 million Beyond Burgers and nourishing meals at no cost to frontline healthcare workers and communities in need.

“We are honored to join in partnership with Chris Paul, Dwyane Wade, and Carmelo Anthony in support of the Social Change Fund. Beyond Meat is dedicated to serving broader social goals, using what’s on the center of the plate as a critical starting point,” said Ethan Brown, Founder and CEO, Beyond Meat. “And we are excited to support and work with the Social Change Fund initiative to address racial inequalities in nutrition access and health outcomes in America.”

As part of our commitment to creating lasting, systemic change for Black communities, we are partnering with the newly formed non-profit Social Change Fund. This non-profit was created by Beyond Ambassador @CP3, @dwyanewade, @carmeloanthony, and a group of Black industry executives in response to the continued issue of racial injustice. Our goal has always been to use food as a vehicle for change. Together, we can help increase access to nutritious and delicious food, and fight racial inequality. #GoBeyond Learn more – link in bio.

“I’ve been a longtime supporter of Beyond Meat and am excited to welcome them as a founding partner into the Social Change Fund. Like the Social Change Fund, I know that Beyond Meat is committed to progress for our communities. I look forward to all the good that we can continue to do together,” said Chris Paul, Beyond Meat investor and ambassador.

“When all else fails to organize us, conditions will,” said Anthony. “We established the Social Change Fund to invest in and support organizations working to champion criminal justice reform, enact policy solutions, and advocate for the human rights of all Black lives now and for generations to come. I stand for everything this Fund and its beneficiaries support and will not stop pushing for progress until we see an end to the systemic racism that the Black community has faced for too long. We will keep on pushing. We will not lose focus.”

“The magnitude of racial inequality is staggering with Black lives socially, politically and economically marginalized,” said Wade. “We are committed to supporting organizations that directly represent and benefit the Black community with the Social Change Fund. Our goal is to create a pathway for inclusion and success by deploying the necessary funds and resources to invest in long-term change.”
