Dbangz Shows Evolution With His Latest EP, ‘Been A Long Time’

Dbangz’s personal growth is a reflection of his music. At just 19 years-old, the now LA-based rapper drops his latest project, Been A Long Time. The project was solely produced by frequent collaborator, DJ Replay.

Dbangz is not the typically teenager. Back in his early teens, he dropped the satyrical meme-rap track,”Thick Ni**as & Anime Titties. The Phoenix, AZ native described his youthful conception as, “young and doing dumb sh*t.” Since then the Cash Money AP produced track, has accumulated over 100 million streams. Now he has traded in the meme rap for more personable bars.

The “Prove” rapper makes a conscious effort to create a space where listeners can hear how much he has grown. The self-improvement extends beyond music. Dbangz has tapped into a Vegan lifestyle as well.

“July of last year is when I started,” said the Arizona native. “I was like almost 300 pounds, probably max like 291…292.”

He attributes the weight loss to his new diet, in addition to the increase of physical and athletic activity. He also advises up-and-coming artist to invest their money before purchasing tangible things that depreciate.

At 15 years-old, he began to receive passive income from his early releases. One of his investments is his family’s farm of 40 acres in his home state of Arizona.

For Dbangz the best is yet to come. He looks to release more visuals for his 6-track EP as the year comes to a close. Been A Long Time is only a warm-up until tip-off. While listeners can feel the potency of the project through his current raps, he claims to have more in store that his supporters will appreciate.
