Jay-Z And Meek Mill’s REFORM Alliance To Send 100K Masks To Prisons And Jails In NYC, Tennessee, Mississippi

According to a confirmed report from CBS News, REFORM Alliance, the inmate advocate organization founded by Meek Mill and Jay-Z, will be sending 100,000 surgical-style masks to correctional institutions around the country in an attempt to curb the spread of the Coronavirus inside of the jails and prisons.

With the unprecedented number of Coronavirus cases in the New York City area, 50,000 of the masks will go to NYC. Riker’s Island, with another 2,500 going to the jail’s medical facility. 40,000 masks will be sent to Tennessee’s Dept. of Corrections while 5,000 masks will be sent to Mississippi’s Parchman Penitentiary.

REFORM’s Chief Advocacy Officer Jessica Jackson said, “It’s a very vulnerable population. We’re really worried about the number of people coming in and out of the facility, and the fact that the people living there might be sitting ducks during this pandemic.”
