Gorillaz launch new Apple Music program 'Song Machine Radio' [Stream]

Gorillaz are haded to Apple Music with a new four-part series titled Song Machine Radio in support of their forthcoming Strange Timez collection, landing on October 23.

Each member of the animated outfit is slated to host an episode, the first of which, hosted by 2D, launched on October 19. Niccals, Noodle, Russel Hobbs, and Murdoc’s episodes will run on November 6 at 3:00 p.m. ET, November 23 at 2:00 p.m. ET, and the series’ final installment will premiere on December 9 at midnight ET. In celebration of the digital band’s 20-year history, each episode of the new series promises appearances by special guests, personalized music selections, and discussions with Gorillaz masterminds Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett. The series wraps just ahead of Song Machine Live—an upcoming virtual concert broadcast airing December 12 and 13, where Gorillaz will perform new Strange Timez cuts alongside past fan-favorites.

Strange Timez collects all of the new releases from the first season of Gorillaz’ Song Machine series, which launched in January. Previously released collaborations with Slowthai, ScHoolboy Q, Robert Smith, Elton John and 6lack, are expected to be matched with upcoming joints with Beck, Goldlink, JPEGMAFIA, St. Vincent, and more.
