Kevin Parker is all of Tame Impala for 'Is It True' performance on Colbert [Watch]

For non-Tame Impala fans, it can be confusing how to describe Kevin Parker in relation to Tame Impala as an entity. Is he Tame Impala? Is he just a member of the band? Well, Kevin Parker further blurs the line between him and the band with his performance of “Is It True” for Stephen Colbert’s Late Show.

The Australian psychedelic multi-instrumentalist seized the opportunity to create a one-of-a-kind, at-home performance and utilized split screens to show off his versatility. While three Parkers sang, played bass, and riffed on the electric guitar, the Tame Impala frontman also decided to add some flair with a multi-colored, time-coded light show that has to be one of the better use of lights among the throng of quarantine performances in recent months.

“Is It True” is a standout from Tame Impala’s fourth studio album, The Slow Rush, that was released on February 14, 2020. This late-night TV performance comes after Kevin Parker performed “Lost In Yesterday” and “Breathe Deeper” just before quarantine on Jimmy Kimmel.
