Oneohtrix Point Never makes stirring debut on Fallon's 'The Tonight Show'

Following his Saturday Night Live debut alongside The Weeknd, Daniel Lopatin, better known as Oneohtrix Point Never, has made his first appearance ever on Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show. Stepping out for his talk show premiere, the Brooklyn producer performed “I Don’t Love Me Anymore” from his latest album.

In addition to work on The Weeknd’s After Hours, Oneohtrix Point Never is fresh off the release of his ninth studio album, Magic Oneohtrix Point Never. The 17-track record features psychedelic soundscapes and songwriting prowess, marking Lopatin’s second LP alongside Age Of to witness his own vocals at the forefront. The self-titled full-length project also contains collaborations with The Weeknd, Caroline Polachek, and Arca.

Despite Oneohtrix Point Never’s inaugural appearance on The Tonight Show, the esteemed producer’s sonic dexterity has been at play for years prior. Lopatin has also flaunted his high-quality production chops composing film scores for the likes of Sofia Coppola and the Safdie Brother’s—the latter winning him the Soundtrack Award at Cannes Film Festival for his work in 2017’s chilling thriller, Good Time. The experimentalist veteran has toured beside fellow award-winning film composer Trent Reznor and his band Nine Inch Nails as well. With a prolific repertoire of musical achievements, it’s no surprise that Lopatin has and will continue to garner critical recognition.
