&pizza and Breakaway Music Festival partner for Hero Concert to feed hospital staff, Loud Luxury and more to perform

Our country’s collective medical community has never faced such a gravely dangerous crisis, though, in the days of global COVID-19 lockdowns, it has been heartwarming to see people and organizations the world over supporting their local medial professionals for risking their own lives on the front lines of fighting this pandemic. And at the end of a shift that feels more like an eternity on a hospital floor, a hot, steamy pizza is probably exactly what the doctor ordered.

&pizza’s Hero Pie program has already sent more than 30,000 pizzas to hospital workers across the east coast, and now, they’ve partnered with Breakaway Music Festival to up the ante with even more pies this week. Michael Lastoria, CEO of &pizza said in a press statement,

“These are unprecedented times, and it’s up to all of us to determine how we respond to them. The Hero Concert series is our way of providing a continuation of our Hero Pie Program and continuing to provide food and support for hospital workers, but also a way to celebrate them together as a community. Breakaway Festivals answered our call to action, and we’re thrilled to be working alongside yet another company dedicated to the Hero cause.”

Kicking off Thursday, April 30 at 8:00 p.m. EST, Loud Luxury, Kid Quill, and Bryce Vine will perform virtually, raising money to feed hospital workers from the audience. Julia Cole will host the evening, which will be streamed live on Twitter as well as on &pizza’s, Breakaway’s, Mix Session, and the artists’ social pages, courtesy of Transmit.Live. Tune in and help
