RL Grime delivers on spine-chilling new 'Halloween IX' mix [Watch]

At long last, the greatest day on the electronic music calendar has arrived: RL Grime‘s latest Halloween mix installment is here. The leading authority on All Hallows Eve has spoken—the ninth episode of his mix series has unfurled and as expected, and not a single soul, spirit, or ghoul is disappointed.

Creeping up on a decade since the launch of the annual mix series, RL Grime remains the unrivaled godfather of trap, adding another notch to his never-ending belt of exemplary electronic hip-hop hybrid works. While Halloween themed festivals and gatherings have taken a typical 2020 nosedive, the dance music community resolutely assembles, virtually, for one calamitous evening, nevertheless.

RL Grime took a different route for the unveiling of his ninth installment in the series, livestreaming the mix in completion, accompanied by head-turning visuals that perfectly capture the mix’s aesthetic. In following with the annual tradition, the NOVA maestro ropes in a spine-tingling cameo for the mix’s intro from none other than T-Pain this year joining the ranks of Hannibal Buress, Tony Hawk, Pharell Williams, and last year’s Guy Fieri.

Now a label head, mentor, and curator, RL Grime’s “Halloween IX” reflects the nine-year journey to where the producer is today—his own corner of electronic music conquered and his empire successfully expanding. Nearly a decade into his reign and RL Grime continues to treat fans to another year of taste making, spine-tingling mix work.

Don’t let the party stop after the hour-long excitement is over, catch up on all of the Halloween mixes here.
