Sirius XM announces 'Virtual DisDance' Festival for Memorial Day Weekend – Mix Session

For those wondering how to spend Memorial Day weekend in quarantine, look no further, as Sirius XM has just announced Virtual DisDance Festival. Airing on BPM, the satellite radio conglomerate’s premiere EDM channel, the event will feature exclusive DJ sets from a selection of dance music’s best, including Afrojack, Alesso, deadmau5, Kygo, Love Regenerator (Calvin Harris), Major Lazer, Tiësto, and more.

The sets will broadcast directly from the artists’ homes, and as an added bonus, Sirius XM will unveil an exclusive Avicii set, initially performed at a company event in 2011. In a press release, President and Chief Content Officer Scott Greenstein said:

“We’re thrilled to be providing a top-notch line up of some of the biggest names in dance music in our first-ever Virtual DisDance Festival…The virtual event will bring the festival experience to life and entertain dance music fans nationwide with original performances and appearances they won’t want to miss. Our listeners can continue to count on SiriusXM to keep them close to their favorite artists and to deliver great exclusive, original, and entertaining content…”

Virtual DisDance Festival will also benefit the MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Fund, established to provide support for music creators and industry professionals alike that have been affected by the pandemic.

Hosted by The Chainsmokers, who appear as BPM regulars on their weekly radio show “The Chainsmokers Electro 15,” the festival begins Friday, May 22 at 4pm ET on Channel 51, and concludes on Sunday, May 24. Select replays will air the following Monday, May 25. The broadcast is available to all Sirius XM subscribers as well as non-subscribers, who can take advantage of the free trial through May 31.
