Ever wonder what some of your favorite DJs would be playing at a venue near you if not for COVID-19? We all have, but now, thanks to a new suite of Spotify playlists, listeners can gain some clarity on what cuts the producers of their choice would be packing into their live sets. The playlist series, titled “track IDs,” has been developed to provide electronic’s top talent with a platform to underscore the songs that they would be playing if music events were ongoing.
The track IDs playlists are available globally and feature hand-curated collections of cuts from Aluna, Black Coffee, Carl Cox, MK, Pan-Pot, Honey Dijon, Dixon, Green Velvet, and Amelie Lens, among other leading dance DJs. Additional playlists from other artists who have not yet joined the track IDs roster will be released at a later date.
Dixon described his track IDs playlist, stating,
“It’s no secret the tracks I play are usually unreleased from whichever sounds I’m into at the time. Right now, with the usual game on hold, this playlist feels quite personal. Of course, there are the floor fillers in there, some from prior lockdown, some that never have been tested on a dance floor. But I’m more curious to gauge the listeners’ response to the underdogs.”
