Travis Scott drops tripped-out new track, 'The Plan' for Christopher Nolan's upcoming film, 'Tenet'

Travis Scott has released a new song for Christopher Nolan‘s much anticipated action-thriller, Tenet, joining the illustrious list of musicians to soundtrack a blockbuster film.

The new track, titled “The Plan,” was previewed during the NBA‘s Clippers vs. Mavericks game, before officially dropping on Saturday, August 22. In a statement made to GQ in the lead up to the Tenet‘s release, the film’s composer Ludwig Göransson detailed Travis Scott’s involvement,

“When I watched the movie in its entirety, I started to feel that the end needed a new voice to reflect the culmination of the journey we’ve just experienced.  The first artist that came to mind was Travis Scott.  Conceptually, his artistic voice is very much in step with the sound palette we’d created for Tenet. Travis instantly connected with the movie, and his observations of the experience were exactly what Chris [Nolan] was looking for. I sent him the beat and sounds, and he started to work on a song building around that material.  Travis nailed it—he did indeed create the missing piece of the puzzle.”

After several COVID-19 related delays, Tenet is finally scheduled for nationwide release on September 3. Listen to Travis Scott’s latest contribution to the film, “The Plan,” below.
