Travis Scott nets record three Hot 100 No. 1's in a single year

Travis Scott has accomplished a new feat as the first-ever artist to have three solo No. 1 debuts in one year. The rapper broke the record after his newest single “FRANCHISE” featuring Young Thug and M.I.A. topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart on its opening week, totaling 19.4 million US streams and 98,000 sales. The single also marks M.I.A.’s first No. 1 entry and Young Thug’s second.

Scott landed his first solo artist No. 1 with single, “Highest In the Room,” released in October 2019. He followed with his second No. 1 entry on Kid Cudi-assisted, “THE SCOTTS” in April 2020. The Astroworld rapper has four total chart-topping debut spots, including the 2018 smash hit, “Sicko Mode.”

Scott is currently tied with Drake for the most No. 1 debuts for a male act in Hot 100 history. He joins Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, and Mariah Carey in the intimate group of artists who hold at least three No. 1 Hot 100 debuts, with Grande holding the record with four.
