Ryan Farish drops new downtempo album Embers and Light

Electronic music prodigy Ryan Farish is returning to form with his latest album, “Embers and Light.” The downtempo output is an absolute treat. Farish conjures up a captivating listening experience that is best enjoyed while winding down in front of a warm fireplace.

The album’s lead single, “Skylight,” perfectly captures the young talent’s current artistic essence. Crafted on Moog’s newly reissued Model D, the single mesmerizes with a warm and smooth sound that subtly channels the classic style of Boards of Canada. It’s not just one single worth mentioning, the rest of the album features numerous standout tracks, including the comforting lullaby of the opening, complete with ethereal vocals, breakbeats, and weeping violins. “Sublime,” a majestic track with trip-hop beats, a breathy choir, and an irresistible melody, lives up to its name. “Wilderbloom” offers a warm slice of deep house, while “Mountain Air,” “Campfire,” and “Skyward” are inspiring, vibey broken-beat efforts. “As Sure As The Sun Rises” radiates a feeling of hope and positivity, followed by the euphoric “Breathe in This Moment,” a beautiful ambient tune that encourages self-reflection. The pace picks up again with the 4/4 throb of “See You Again” before the album concludes with the tribal-infused “Floating.”
