Eclectic artist/producer duo Shae District returns with their new single “Devotion,” out on July 12th as an independent release.
Inspired by electronic tracks of the early 2000’s, “Devotion” is the first single release for Shae District since their self-titled EP last year.
“”Our recent music releases came from a darker environment and were written in the years following the pandemic. During this time, music was predominantly listened to at home and in the car – not in live settings. We created pieces and music videos for a more cinematic experience that reflected these times. However, as the world has opened up once again we’ve had the opportunity to perform in some amazing venues, festivals, and with other amazing artists. We wanted to write music that reflected this new era and would translate well live. Something uplifting, powerful and energizing while still holding to the core who we are. So, ‘Devotion’ was born.” – Shae District
An uplifting anthem created with the intent of broadening the duo’s repertoire, “Devotion” breaks the mold of the darker tones from their previous productions. Debjit, one half of Shae District, puts in a masterful vocal performance, with the lyrics speaking of a person that is larger than life, holding everyone they come into contact with in the palm of their hands. Despite their strong dance roots, Shae District’s newest work is very much more of a song than a track, pairing wistful, soaring vocals with punchy drums and a euphoric melody. “Devotion” is simultaneously bold and powerful while also being tasteful and gentle, a masterclass in their own style and sound.
Debjit and Andrew are the Alternative Dance group Shae District. They combine elements of Trance, House, Rock, and Electronic, akin to the bands Rufus Du Sol and Bob Moses. The duo have released three EPs – their most recent self titled ‘Shae District’ EP was remixed by 20 producers from around the world and came accompanied with a Deluxe Version and live performance video from Nederland, CO.
Their performance has lead them to tour with Jai Wolf, perform at the ODESZA Official Afterparty with Golden Features, and share the stage with Sofi Tukker, Bob Moses, Big Gigantic, Hayden James, Manila Killa and Phantoms.
