The song’s massive success was largely driven by its infectious hook, which became a staple for heartbreak-themed content on Reels.
Sickick’s official remix keeps the original vocal front and center and rebuilds everything under it. The Canadian producer known for his mask and for the “Frozen” rework that broke him globally brings Afro-leaning drums, more atmosphere, and the darker electronic sound he’s spent his career on.
Sickick grew up around Bollywood music and says the combination of electronic production, Afro drums, and South Asian vocals is something he hadn’t heard done before. He noted that his primary goal was to honor the integrity of the original composition while ensuring the track resonated within a club and dance floor environment.
