deadmau5 has partnered with meditation and mindfulness app Calm to bring an exclusive playlist of mau5trap gems to the platform. The nine-track flow and focus playlist features acoustic entries such as deadmau5′ “monophobia – ov” edit alongside mellow electronic cuts like ATTLAS‘ Lavender God.
Calm made headlines in August when they premiered five songs from Diplo‘s first ambient album MMXX. Exclusive music seems to be a key pillar of Calm’s business strategy, as their growing library hosts Nosaj Thing, Toro y Moi, Moby, Moses Sumney, and Nick Murphy. Additionally, the app hosts “Calm Mixes” from Kygo, Ellie Goulding, and Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs.
With an indisputably stressful 2020, mindfulness services have significantly grown in popularity. According to Quartz, Calm raked in nearly $100 million in revenue from 28 million installs over the first 11 months of 2020.
