Kanye West is continuing to make history.
Billboard reported Thursday that Kanye’s second DONDA listening party broke the record for the most-watched Apple Music event in history.
According to reports, the listening session was streamed by nearly 6 million viewers. That figure smashes the previous record of over 3 million viewers. Which, coincidentally, was set by Kanye’s first DONDA livestream event on July 23rd. Before that, Jeezy and Gucci Mane’s Verzuz battle set the record with just under two-million views in November 2020.

For context, the total is more than double the current livestream record on Twitch – and approaches the 2020 Primetime Emmys, which pulled in an audience of 6.1 million people across the U.S. last September -–making it one of the biggest livestream events in the past year. Sources say the DONDA listening party generated over 1.1 million tweets at its peak, outpacing Twitter activity for the 2020 MTV VMAs.
Currently, Kanye West’s DONDA album has been given another release date, and there are rumors of more production delays.

“Not really leaked lol, people just recording the listening party and cut it up so it presents the album. You can still hear the crowd in all these ‘leaks’ that are out.”
