Last year, Spotify launched EQUAL, a new platform showcasing female-identifying artists carrying the torch for a more equitable music industry. This month, one of Dancing Astronaut‘s Artist to Watch in 2022 LP Giobbi was handpicked as the United States EQUAL ambassador. The on-the-rise producer shared on Instagram,
“Programs like this are incredibly important to me because visual representation is important. You cannot be what you cannot see. I had the privilege of being raised by beautiful hippy parents who told me I could be anything and do anything. Even then, as I started my musical journey, it didn’t even occur to me that ‘producer’ was a role I could have because I never saw anyone that looked like me doing it.”

In honor of the new platform, Giobbi has curated a playlist of dance music visionaries, including TSHA, Sofi Tukker, and TOKiMONSTA, along with up-and-coming producers like Anz, Paty B, and Bklava, who will be joining Giobbi on her North American FEMME HOUSE tour beginning this month.
Consistently churning out more music for her fans, Giobbi will be bringing to Twitch her full “Dead House” livestream February 19 at 10:00 p.m. EST / 7:00 p.m. PST on The Relix Channel. Originally slated to perform at Dead and Company‘s Playing in the Sand Festival in early January, Giobbi spent months preparing a set full of Grateful Dead stems in congruence with her immersive piano house excursions. The festival was forcibly cancelled following a series of unfortunate events related to COVID-19‘s resurgence this past winter, but thankfully, the show will be brought to the masses via Twitch this February. All Donations will go towards benefitting the REX Foundation.
