Andrew Bayer Releases Three-Track Trance EP ‘Places I Belong’

‘Places I Belong’ is the debut EP from Grammy-nominated dance producer Andrew Bayer on Ophelia Records.

Featuring collaborations with Seven Lions and singer/songwriters Fiora and Rob Tirea, the EP touches both classic trance and mainstage dance fans with epic breakdowns, stadium filling vocals and chest thumping basslines. Alongside the EP, Andrew will be headlining a North American club tour with Ophelia Records in February and March to promote the release.

“Places I Belong started with the title track back in 2019 after Seven Lions and I got this amazing vocal from Fiora (she smashed out of the park). It was a cathartic experience to work on Places I Belong and absorb the lyrics after moving back to my childhood hometown.
The EP quickly took its own direction after joining Seven Lions on his Journey 3 bus tour. I was so inspired by those shows and my experience there that I wanted to add a few more tracks to the project. Jeff encouraged me to be true to my sound and vision for the project, so I wanted to bring that blending of the natural and organic to the dystopian and mechanical world. ‘Fear Of Losing You’ captured the beauty of a dystopian romance, inspired by Frank & Bill in ‘The Last Of Us’. We wanted to carry that theme forward of beauty and love in a dystopian world, again playing with the theme of blending the organic and the machine that has been so prevalent through my career. I am very proud of how the project came together and extremely happy to join the Ophelia family for my debut EP!” – Andrew Bayer

Andrew Bayer has been responsible for the most experimental and ambitious artist albums on Anjunabeats. His 2011 debut ‘It’s Artificial’ merged glitch-hop, electronica and prog house, while on 2013’s ‘If It Were You, We’d Never Leave’ he pushed the envelope further with a critically-acclaimed journey of electronica and sunny, instrumental hip-hop. 2018’s ‘In My Last Life’ wove the emotive songwriting of Ane Brun and Alison May into a modern alt-pop masterpiece. His fourth studio album, ‘Duality’, is one of his most ambitious works to date; climbing to #1 on the US / Canada iTunes Dance chart and attracting support from Sirius XM’s Diplo and Liquid Todd, BBC Radio 1’s Annie Nightingale and KCRW’s Jason Bentley.

Last year, Andrew followed up the success of ‘Duality’ with a far-reaching North American tour and made an appearance at Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy Weekender festivities at The Gorge. He also joined Seven Lions on his ‘Journey III’ tour with stops at The Greek Theatre, MGM Hall, Avant Gardner (Brooklyn Mirage), Downtown Las Vegas Event Center, Santa Barbara Bowl and beyond.
