Stateside house music producer Bexxie returns to Insomniac’s offshoot label IN / ROTATION via her sophomore single, “Gotta Be Real,” releasing June 11th.
“Gotta Be Real” nods to her roots by taking cues from the classic track “Injected With A Poison” by Praga Khan, a throwback record she attests as an emblematic selection from her earliest days as a reveler on the dancefloor. The single builds around old-school rave stabs, diva-style vocal hooks, disco-calling vox samples, and a well-executed breakbeat breakdown. The track follows from her previous single “Got
Me,” which drew support from dEVOLVE, Tomo Hirata, and Fedde Le Grand.
Bexxie shared her emotions and motivations behind the creation and release of the track, stating, “I’m excited to be releasing with IN / ROTATION again! I wanted to make a track that pairs modern house music with influences from my ‘90s rave days, and ‘Gotta Be Real’ was born. I’ve been playing this one in my sets and it always gets the crowd moving!”
Based on the East Coast, Bexxie is an American producer making waves in house music with her affinity for ‘90s rave culture and timeless grooves. She was named ‘Future of Dance’ by 1001TrackLists, and has provided direct support for Above & Beyond, Chromeo, Dombresky, and Andrew Bayer, as well as joining Seven Lions for 23 dates on his ‘Journey III’ Tour.
With “Gotta Be Real,” Bexxie presents a throwback to the glory days of rave, blending classic tech house and disco themes with modern production that pushes her forward as an artist to watch. Bexxie’s new single “Gotta Be Real” is available on all platforms via IN/ROTATION
Records.
