While President Donald Trump is wrongfully stating that he has the power to reopen every state in America, Governors are actively creating plans to get their states moving.
One of those officials is California’s governor Gavin Newsom who has detailed a plan that reopen the state’s economy after a shut down has been active for a month.
To get the state back going, Newsom detailed six factors that would assist in withdrawing the stay-at-home order.
“This phase is one where science – public health, not politics, must be the guide,” Newsom said according to Deadline. “Where must be open to argument, interested in evidence, where we cannot be ideological in any way, shape or form in terms of how we approach a condition that changes on an hourly and daily basis – conditions that will ultimately determine what decisions we make.”
These efforts include: expanding testing, continuing to protect vulnerable populations, provide PPE and necessary resources to medical staff, continue to work closely with academics and research, redrawing floor plans for social distancing and maintain capacity for “more vigorous controls.”
