Hamdi Remixes Doctor P Single, ‘ Sweet Shop ‘

Multi-genre DJ/producer, Hamdi is set to take the world by storm with his remix of ‘Sweet Shop’ by Doctor P. Releasing on the 2nd of May 2024!

Since the age of 12 he primarily explored Grime and Dubstep. He was then quickly attracted to the United States-influenced side of Dubstep, particularly the likes of Skrillex, Knife Party and Flux Pavilion.

Since first officially releasing in 2016, his earlier Grime productions had the likes of Novelist, President T, Manga and a number of other artists regularly spitting over his beats. Fast forward to 2021, with Hamdi’s levelled up production after experimenting with Grime, Dubstep and Garage, he released “Skanka”, the track that would kickstart his worldwide success. The international sensation has garnered support from electronic music heavyweights such as Skrillex, Knife Party, Fred Again…, Zeds Dead and Porter Robinson, as well as some of the UK underground scene’s most prestigious acts, including DJ EZ, Skream, Sherelle and Mala.

“It’s an absolute honour to be able to remix Sweet Shop – it was one of the first Dubstep tracks I ever heard and was a big reason I got into the genre in the first place.I wanted to make a sort of 2024 version of the track but keep the energy and feel of the original. I had a lot of fun making it and it’s been going off at shows, so glad to have it come out!” – Hamdi

When Doctor P posted his new track ‘Sweet Shop’ on his MySpace to test for interest, little did he know that this was to change the course of bass music history and inspire a whole new generation of electronic fans. ‘Sweet Shop’ quickly became a staple part of just about every DJ’s set, an anthem for every floor. The track was one of the first releases on Circus Records and helped make it one of the forging labels of modern Bass. Since its first release in 2009, Hamdi is now set to give it a re-imagined feel 15 years on!
