IDID are made up of members Jang Yonghoon, Kim Minjae, Park Wonbin, Chu Yoochan, Park Seonghyeon, Baek Junhyuk and Jeong Semin.
“I want us to become a group that defines an era, just like Coldplay or Bruno Mars,” said member Jang Yonghoon during the group’s debut showcase at Yes24 Live Hall in eastern Seoul on Monday, per Korea JoongAng Daily.
“We hope to appear on many big stages through world tours and overseas festivals, hopefully, to grow into just that.”
IDID’s seven members were all finalists on the Debut’s Plan competition show, which aired between March and May earlier this year. The group was initially set to include an eighth member, Park Jun-hwan. Park was announced as part of the band’s line-up in May, but has since withdrawn from the group due to a string of controversial social media posts alleged to be written by him resurfacing in June.
Starship Entertainment has since confirmed that the allegations were falsified, but that he had opted to formally depart from the group due to “significant psychological distress”.
