Jackboy is holding down the Sniper Gang fort for the time-being. The Pomona Beach native, by the way of Haiti remains consistent in that effort after dropping two projects in 2020. Earlier in the year, he released his self-titled EP. The first voice we hear on the project is Sniper Gang founder, Kodak Black.
Before music became a full-time gig for JB, Kodak vouched for him during an interview. At the time, he had yet to release a record. The “Zeze” rapper simply saw the potential and used his platform to put the spotlight on another artist from his city. Since his unexpected co-sign, Jackboy has not disappointed. Based on Kodak’s introduction on JB’s “Pressure,” he’s proud of what he’s done thus far.
Now Jackboy is only trending upward. His most recent release, Living In History is a prime display of consciousness. While the year of 2020 will be documented for its series of unfortunate events, Jackboy used his cover art and album as documentation as well. The “Married To My Enemies” rapper taps Tee Grizzely and Rylo Rodriguez as the only features for his latest release.
There are more unreleased featured tracks, but he looks to save them for the right time. He was recently featured on Empire’s Voices For Change, Vol. 1 project, which speaks to racial inequalities and systemic issues endured by African American communities.
Aside from music, Jackboy is laying the foundation for business ventures including real estate and a potential talent management company. As the Dior mascot, he looks to one day partner with the luxury brand as well.
Many can expect more visuals from the Sniper Gang rapper as the year comes to a close.
