Linkin Park Returns with “Up From the Bottom” From “From Zero” Deluxe Edition
Linkin Park is back with a brand-new track, “Up From the Bottom,” marking their first release since last fall’s “From Zero” album. The song, featuring co-vocalist Emily Armstrong and Colin Brittain, was penned after the album’s release and has now been added to the deluxe edition of “From Zero,” which is set to drop on May 16.
Fans have been speculating about the track for weeks as the band teased its arrival with cryptic messages, fueling anticipation for what they describe as one of their best songs yet.
Joe Hahn, in a red carpet interview at the iHeart Radio Awards, went as far as to call it “the best song we’ve ever made.” Co-vocalist Mike Shinoda added that it features “one of the best videos we’ve ever had,” while Hahn, who directed the clip, hinted at its mind-bending visuals. He suggested that once fans hear the track, they’ll fully grasp its significance.
The song taps into classic Linkin Park energy, blending distorted riffs, powerful drums, and Shinoda’s signature rap verses. The bridge surprises with turntable scratches and deep 808s, capturing the essence of their early days while infusing fresh inspiration.
On social media, Shinoda shared insight into the song’s creation, explaining that between tours, the band gathered in his studio to go through demos. Realizing they were missing a key track, he started experimenting on the piano, pulling together loose ideas until something special emerged.
Alongside “Up From the Bottom,” the deluxe edition of “From Zero” will feature two more unreleased tracks, “Unshatter” and “Let You Fade.” This expanded version of the album gives fans a deeper look into the band’s creative process and the songs that didn’t make the original cut but still hold immense significance.
With the success of “From Zero,” Linkin Park has also extended their 2025 world tour. The tour kicks off on April 26 in Austin, Texas, with U.S. dates running through September 24 in Seattle, Washington, before heading to Europe for June and July performances. Fans eager to catch them live can check the band’s official website for full dates, venues, and ticket information.
“Up From the Bottom” proves that Linkin Park continues to evolve while staying true to their roots. The track blends nostalgia with modern production, offering fans a taste of what’s to come. With the deluxe edition of “From Zero” and an expanded tour, 2025 is shaping up to be an exciting year for the band.
