Following on from his label debut with six track ‘Love Disc’ EP, rising Scottish producer Pocket returns to Helix Records with fresh new single ‘Another Night In London’ alongside talented North London rapper GBNGA.
Louis Wyzgowski AKA Pocket has proven himself to be a multi-genre specialist who can move between the worlds of moody broken beat, 2-step and garage to R&B, grime, pop and many different electronic niches.
This new single follows huge hype for Pocket in 2024, who’s unreleased track earned support from Fred Again and Overmono in their Lot Radio Set as well as Disclosure and salute in their Columbia pop up set. Continuing to fall into the same bracket as these heavyweight producers and having been named an “Up Next” Artist by ‘andnewfriendsNYC’ for 2023 (Fred Again named for 2022), Pocket demonstrates the next wave of talent to push this sound forward.
His critical acclaim continues to grow with high profile support from Mixmag as one of their ‘artists to watch’ in 2022, as well as earning one of the ‘best tracks of the year’ in 2022 with his track ‘Heartbreak Engineering’ which also received the seal of approval from pop icon Charli XCX and DJ Seinfeld.
A true multi-genre talent inspired by the likes of Four Tet, Burial, The Prodigy, Fatboy Slim and more, Pocket applies his graduate sound design skills to influence beyond his own music. From creating sell out sample packs to producing and writing for the likes of PinkPantheress, Pocket’s creativity holds no bounds.
Going global, Pocket has live shows coming up in Los Angeles, San Fancisco with Hamdi, continuing on to Denver, Portland, Las Vegas, Bonnaroo Festival with Chase & Status, HARD Summer and more.
Now combining the worlds of grime and electronic music, Pocket enlists GBNGA for this latest release. Hailing from North London, GBNGA is a talented wordsmith, songwriter and producer with UKG, grime and funky house at the forefront of his influences. Known for an output of soothing, mellow, lo-fi tinged and R&B laced tracks with introspective lyrics, GBNGA makes for the perfect collaborator to complement Pocket’s music.
‘Another Night In London’ rides on deep, bubbling bass with crisp, stripped back percussion that draws on Pocket’s influences of UKG, two step rhythms and texturally rich and grooving sounds. The melancholic atmosphere is lit up by the masterfully mellow but poignant bars of GBNGA as his filtered vocal snippets swirl amongst the broken beats that will captivate listeners into the night.
