Singer-Songwriter Kevin Ross Displays Diversity With New Project ‘Audacity Vol. 2’ & New Show ‘The MashUp Show’

Singer-Songwriter Kevin Ross continues to makes strides as an industry veteran. The DMV native dropped two projects this year entitled, Audacity, Vol.1 its sequel, Audacity Vol. 2. Both projects take listeners on a ride of rhythmic melodies, backed with the uncanny vocals by Ross himself. The release of both projects continued to show what many already know if you have followed the career of Kevin Ross. He has a knack of fusing multiple genres to show off his pen and vocal ability. Ross did not just arrive at this moment.

His journey as a singer-songwriter began at Duke Ellington High School. While attending Ross approached the craft with more intention. The historic institution were once homes to notable alum such as Dave Chapelle, Johnny Gi ll, Ari Lennox and more. After graduating from Ellington, he received a scholarship to attend Berklee College of Music.

His life changed forever when he was convinced to be a contestant on BET’s 106 & Park’s segment, “Wild Out Wednesday,” after being reluctant to do so. The segment served as a platform to showcase amateur talent. Upon arriving with his guitar player, Ross was ridiculed by the fellow contestants. Low and behold, he was called back as a winner of Wild Out Wednesdays.

His performance caught the attention of music executive Troy Taylor. Taylor was instrumental to the career of Trey Songz as well. Ross’ moved down to ATL and begin working with Taylor, which led to a number of songwriting placements with Songz including “Touching, Loving featuring Nicki Minaj and “Dead Wrong” with Ty Dolla $ign. In addition to Trigga, he has worked with SWV, Johnny Gill, Case, Bryan-Michael Cox and more. While promoting his own music, Ross began The MashUP Show.

On the show, the singer interviews notable guests and play a number of musical games such as the finish the melody, where guests finish the lyrics to a song that Kevin begins. The MashUp Show has featured guests such as SWV, Avant, Sylenna Johnson, Keedron Bryant and more.

With the year coming to a close, Ross desire to showcase his range of talents including hosting and interviewing with “The MashUp Show.” It is certain that more music will come as well.
