SOURCE SPORTS: High School Baller Mikey Williams Signs NIL Excel Sports

Mikey Williams, one of the top prospects in the 2023 college basketball recruiting class, has signed a contract with Excel Sports Management to handle his name, image and likeness (NIL) rights.

Williams, who is only 17, isn’t eligible for the NBA Draft until 2024, but with five million followers across his social media platforms, he’s expected to bring in numerous endorsement deals in the NIL marketplace.

“Mikey’s relevance around his peers in the basketball community is off the charts,” Excel vice president Matt Davis told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski on Thursday. “He’s one of the most relevant personalities in the basketball community. His digital and social following speak for themselves.”

While legislation recently allowed for college athletes to financially profit from NIL endorsement opportunities, no high school prospect unaffiliated with a college program has shown the ability to generate the revenue that Williams appears to about to do.

Williams, a 6-foot-2 San Diego native who will attend Lake Norman Christian in Huntersville, North Carolina. He is ranked number 1 in the state and number 5 nationally in the Class of 2023 according to 247 sports.

Williams is about to change the entire (NIL) game and open the market up for other ballers around the nation.
