Jaylen Brown is about that action. The Boston Celtics’ forward is just as upset about all the civil unrest like the rest of us. That’s why he made his way down to Atlanta by any means.
Brown, who is from Marietta, Georgia, felt it was important for him to join his community and participate peacefully in a protest. He said he wanted to bring attention to injustices, like the death of George Floyd.
Along with Brown, Indiana Pacers’ Malcolm Brogdon and NBA G-League player Justin Anderson also participated in the protest.
Brown also posted an image on Instagram holding a poster that read “I can’t breathe,” echoing the words of the late Eric Garner and George Floyd.
Brown was having the best season of his career prior to the league’s season being suspended and was averaging 20.4 points per game. While Brown awaits the NBA season to resume, the last thing he wanted to see was another senseless killing of a black man at the hand of the police.
