CHYL, our Speed House Queen, returns to Dim Mak to release her latest EP, “Sport Mode.”
With an explosive blend of Speed and Bass House sounds, jetting synths, and killer features from Cesqeaux, Aviella, and ZOOTAH, the EP shows CHYL accelerating through the scene’s rankings and creating her own lane where Speed House rules all.
The EP is truly all gas, no brakes, as CHYL serves up five of her hardest and fastest Speed House tracks on Sport Mode. With three previously released singles, including “Let Go” with ZOOTAH and “Bring It Back,” a standout among the new tracks is “Full Speed” featuring Aviella. A whirlwind of energetic Speed House mixed with Aviella’s evocative lyrics, creating the perfect soundtrack for driving fast.
CHYL reflects on the EP; the “Sport Mode” EP is my second EP on Dim Mak. Immediately after my first “Mini Motors” EP, I started working on song ideas that could be elevated into another project. In motorsports, Sport Mode signifies a higher level of performance, and I wanted my music to embody this same spirit. All the tracks on this EP are 150BPM Speed House, and I’m very proud of every single track I’ve produced. I tried to push my boundaries to produce not only club bangers but more radio-friendly, streaming-friendly tracks for this project. I am very fortunate to work with vocalists such as Aviella to finish these songs. Most of the tracks on the songs are intense and very adrenaline-driven, which is what I ultimately hope for the audience to feel — a full-throttle experience that propels you to want to go fast. I hope these songs fuel the listeners with maximum energy. I feel very lucky to work with Dim Mak on this second project, along with my EP release party, merch, and headline shows, and we will keep pushing Speed House forward to become a mainstream genre.
Fans in Los Angeles can look forward to CHYL’s EP release party in collaboration with world renowned auto shop and lifestyle brand RACE SERVICE in DTLA on March 17. The EP party will be a 360-style DJ set in their car garage, among incredible vintage and race cars. Through this event we aim to highlight the connection between CHYL’s music to motorsports while celebrating the release of her second EP on Dim Mak Records, Sport Mode.
CHYL has been announcing her Sport Mode-branded headline shows one by one. The first two shows, in Orange County and Los Angeles, sold out nearly immediately. She just went live with the New York show date as well.
In her own words, “Sport Mode” reflects my commitment to elevate my performance to its maximum potential. In motorsports, Sport Mode signifies a higher performance gear, and I want my shows to embody this same spirit. It’s about taking the risks to become a headliner and taking responsibility to provide a unique experience to my fans. I’ve worked really hard on delivering this show with my best music, visuals, and performers so far in my career, and I want every aspect of my performance to be tuned and pushed to its limits. I want to embrace the mentality of champions, pushing boundaries, and deliver a show that not only entertains but also leaves a lasting impact in dance music.”
CHYL has also taken on designing her own merch, and her newest line will be coming out with the Dim Mak Collections brand. This collection features a racer jacket, a team t-shirt, pins, and keychains and will be available at select Sport Mode shows, and online in full in April.
CHYL adds; “I designed the jacket and t-shirts myself, drawing inspirations from the aesthetics of motorsport teams such as McLaren and Mercedes Formula 1. I’m really honored to work with such an established clothing brand such as Dim Mak Collections and I believe I’m the first musical artist collaboration they have on board as well. Working with DMC has not only elevated the merch quality but also opened my eyes on more ways to think about fashion pricing and marketing strategies. I can’t wait for the fans to check out this collaboration firsthand!”
