Susan Boyle has responded to Oasis dedicating a song to her during a show in Edinburgh, revealing she will be seeing them herself in September.
The band dedicated ‘Stand By Me’ to the Britain’s Got Talent runner-up during their final show at Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium last night (August 13). Before they began performing the song, Liam Gallagher said, “This one’s for Susan Boyle,” a comment he reiterated in the caption of a carousel of photos from the night.
Boyle then responded with a photo of her wearing Oasis merch and giving the thumbs up to the camera.
“Thanks so much for the dedication @liamgallagher 😎 You’ve made this old girl’s day 💖,” she wrote in the caption. “Hope to see you and the rest of @oasis at Wembley in September for a wee bit of poznan 🙏 Big love to you all.”
Oasis performed three shows in Edinburgh over the past week. Fans who were at the first show on August 9 – the band’s first Scottish gig since 2009 – came away describing the gig as akin to “a religious experience”.
The opening night saw Liam brand the City of Edinburgh council “a bunch of snakes”. He said the band were “still waiting for our apology” from the local authority over a report which suggested the band’s fans would be “rowdy” and “intoxicated”.

At another of the shows, opener Cast’s set was marked by a flyover from the Red Arrows.
Oasis will then head for a pair of performances in Dublin’s Croke Park on August 16 and 17, before heading across the Atlantic for the North American tour. Dates in Toronto, Chicago, East Rutherford, Pasadena and Mexico City will take them to the middle of September, when they head back for two final nights at Wembley.
Later in the year, they play in South Korea, Japan, Australia, Argentina, Chile and Brazil.
NME gave Oasis’ first concert at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium a glowing five-star review, writing: “After a ‘90s heyday and an often maligned post-millennium era, this is Oasis redesigned for the 21st Century.”
“Playing before a pop-art-meets-psychedelia visual spectacular that never distracts but will look sick on a phone, they seem the quintessential stadium band playing the greatest hits of greatest hits,” it added.
Meanwhile, Noel Gallagher has launched a new Gibson Les Paul, designed specifically for the Oasis ‘Live 25’ tour.
The axe itself is a Gibson Custom Noel Gallagher Les Paul Standard, which comes in an Ebony finish, lightly aged by the Murphy Lab at the Gibson Custom Shop. It also features nickel Gibson Custom P-90 pickups, Grover tuners, and Noel Gallagher’s preferred SlimTaper neck profile.
Only 25 models have been made available as a very limited collector’s package, carefully curated by Noel and Gibson, and each is hand-signed by Gallagher. It also comes with a Gibson Custom hardshell case with bespoke interior, a handmade leather strap by Bear Straps, and a handwritten lyric sheet from the Britpop icon.
The lyrics for each guitar comes from a classic Oasis song, and every guitar sold will come with words from a different song – meaning no two have the same lyrics repeated.
