Thanks to the New Format, the NBA Has Made Their All-Star Game Great Again

The NBA All-Stat Game is great again. Thanks to a new format, the game was entertaining and filled with high stake drama, especially in the final ten minutes.

The game ended with two competitive teams competing in a next-shot wins scenario, first to 157. Ultimately, Team LeBron beat Team Giannis with an Anthony Davis free throw, 157-155.

Down the stretch, LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo locked each other up on defense, including a controversial overturned Antetokounmpo goaltend on James.

The only downside was seeing the night end at the free-throw line. Kyle  Lowry fouled Anthony Davis on a loose ball foul as the center tried to seal position in the post. Davis sunk the game-winner on his second try. No game should end on a walk-off free throw. Certainly, that’s something the NBA will fix for future All-Star Games.

Overall, salute to the NBA for once again being a proactive league. They saw a problem with their product and found a way to make All-Star Weekend must-watch television once again.
