Weeks before his highly-anticipated Astro World festival, and still no lineup details, Travis Scott, in partnership with Atlantic Records, adds a new artist to his Catcus Jack label with the signing of Cuban-American sensation Malu Trevejo announced on Monday afternoon (Oct. 18).
Trevejo is a popular 19-year-old Latin-English singer and social media influencer with over 10 million Instagram followers and 1.44 million YouTube subscribers. As an artist, Trevejo is best known for her debut single “Luna Llena” released in 2017, which currently garners over 115 million views on YouTube. The announcement of Trevejo’s signing was accompanied by the news that her first single under Scott, currently untitled, will drop this Friday (Oct. 22).
In 2017, Trevejo signed a recording/co-management agreement with Universal Music Latin, a subsidiary of Universal Music Group, that would be void in July 2018 by Federal Court due to her being underage (14-years-old at the time) when she signed and was never certified by a court. At Cactus Jack, she joins an all-star roster including Don Toliver, Sheck Wes, Chase B and SoFaygo. Trevejo hinted at the new signing with La Flame Sunday (Oct.17) in a photo of the two posing with the caption of a heart and cactus emoji on her Twitter.
There has been no official word if Trevejo will perform at Astro World November 4-5 in Houston. Furthermore, no official lineup has been revealed at press time. Past festival performers include DaBaby, Marilyn Mason, Kanye West, Migos, Rosalia and Young Thug.
