VOLT Milano just flipped the switch on a whole new era with the launch of VOLT Recordings, a fresh record label born straight from the DNA of one of Europe’s most respected clubs.
If you’ve ever danced under the strobes at VOLT, you know the sound is sharp, the vibe is intense, and the curation is top-tier. Now, that same energy is getting pressed into wax with the debut release coming from in-house hero Still.i, and it’s as dialed in as the club’s Funktion-One rig.
Since 2016, VOLT has carved out a name as more than just a nightlife hotspot. Founded by Claudio Antonioli, the Milan-based venue has always fused design, music, and atmosphere in a way that feels way more intentional than your average club night. With a rotating cast of global heavyweights and underground risers passing through its doors, VOLT has become a cornerstone of the city’s cultural scene. So the move to launch VOLT Recordings? Honestly, it feels overdue.
According to the club’s crew, VOLT Recordings was the next logical step. “The label is a continuation of the vision we’ve built inside the club. VOLT has evolved into a sound, a mindset, a community, this label lets us extend that energy beyond the walls,” they explained. And the timing feels right. As the function of club spaces keeps shifting, VOLT is doubling down on its role as a cultural incubator, turning moments from the dancefloor into lasting pieces of audio storytelling.
Kicking things off is Still.i, a VOLT resident whose sets have come to define the venue’s sound: sleek, emotional, and laser-focused on dancefloor dynamics. His debut Dance United EP drops in two parts. The first single, “Dance United,” lands on May 30 with a remix from none other than Gerd Janson. Known for his infectious grooves and Running Back label wizardry, Janson puts a refined spin on the original. Then on June 13, we get “The Underdog,” featuring a remix by Echonomist, whose deep, emotive techno rounds out the full four-track release. That’s the global release date for the full EP, which captures exactly what VOLT Recordings is aiming for: club music with purpose.
But this label isn’t just about putting out bangers. It’s a bigger cultural move. VOLT Recordings is about extending the club’s ethos into a permanent archive of sound. It’s about giving artists a place to experiment, share, and evolve. And most importantly, it’s about making sure that what happens inside VOLT doesn’t stay inside, it reverberates far beyond.
