Following his debut single “Watching You,” the enigmatic Y.Groove has just unveiled his next eagerly awaited track, “Feels Like A Dream.”
Y.Groove, the creative alter ego of an anonymous music producer hailing from Luxembourg, continues to mesmerize audiences with his distinctive fusion of lush house beats, making it the perfect soundtrack for the last days of summer.
“Feels Like A Dream,” the latest addition to Y.Groove’s musical repertoire, promises to build on the momentum of his first release. The track’s captivating melodies and infectious drums solidify Y.Groove’s standing as a creator of high-quality dance music that resonates with its audience.
Driven by an unwavering passion for music, Y.Groove lets his work speak for itself, allowing his craft to shine without the distraction of a public persona. His anonymity ensures that the focus remains solely on the music, enabling listeners to fully immerse themselves in the sonic journey he creates.
To celebrate its release, we asked Y.Groove to give us a breakdown of what he has within his Spotify playlists.
Take a look below, and be sure to check out his brand new single now.
My playlists tend to change quite frequently on Spotify but below are some songs and producers that often appear.
Joe Smooth – Promised Land
Old house music is a big inspiration with Y.Groove so it would be hard not to include Joe Smooth in this list. Promised Land is the perfect track from melody to vocals to a disco baseline to great hooks. It’s an oldie but goldie and a firm fav in my playlist.
Tame Impala – Yes I’m Changing.
Love must if not all music from Tame Impala so could have picked a fair number of tracks. But the simplicity of Yes I’m Changing is something that inspires. Less is often more and in this case the baseline I think is brilliant.. Musical arrangements in all his music is something I often spend hours listening and learning from.
Caribou – Can’t do without you.
One of the best pop songs there is. It is hypnotic. The vocals repeat and repeat and never get boring. The song itself has a straight forward Chord progression that just gets layered and built up. Caribou I think is a big influence for me.
Fred Again – Kammy
Fred again tracks are so well produced. There is a depth to the way he layers sounds and blends varied sonics to sit perfectly together. It feels so familiar but original. I think Kammy is a great example. And the synth sounds are just killer.
Flume/Toro y Moi – The Difference.
Flume’s ability to create clean and new synths is something I listen to regularly and often play around in the studio inspired by his sounds. Toro y Moi is more or less on all my playlist in some form. So a Flume/Toro y Moi collaboration is an easy pick for this list.
Mall Grab – Love Reigns
This track draws a lot of inspiration from House music in the 90s and I love it for that. Can’t beat a piano track!!! And a big fan of Mall Grab. Enjoy most things it does.
Sigur Ros – Hoppipolla
Away from Dance/Electronic music I have a bit of an obsession with Sigur Ros. I think their unique sound is unmatched and there is little not to be inspired by. It’s a powerful, emotive and rich soundscape that is masterful in its delivery. Whilst Hoppipolla is not my fav track it is the most widely known and I have been trying to figure out how to remix into an Afrohouse song:-)…..haven’t got there yet!!!
Wooderson Slater – The Lake
Another non Dance track and wanted to include at least one track that had under 20k plays to share something that might be a discovery. There are only 4 songs from Wooderson Slater and The Lake hits. That piano might need to be sampled.
Orbital – Halcyon and On and On.
Top ten dance songs of all time this one. Not sure there is a better intro and build up to a song. The bassline coming in after 2 mins of intro will never get old. The vocals are perfect. A must for any electronic music fan. How this does not have double the plays on Spotify I will never understand.
Four Tet – Butterflies
Listen to most things that come from Four Tet. One of the more talented producers who is able to adapt and evolve continuously which is rare. At the moment the song that is on my playlist is Butterflies which is a collaboration with Shrillex.
