San Francisco is once again blessed by the gods of indie electronica for another blood moon celebration under the Portola electric sky. Goldenvoice’s answer to electronic nostalgia is back for 2025 with a strong lineup featuring headliners LCD Soundsystem, The Chemical Brothers, Dom Dolla, Peggy Gou, and many more.
The festival takes place September 20-21 at San Francisco’s Pier 80, a 60-acre industrial waterfront venue. Since launching in 2022, Portola has quickly become the go-to high-brow electronic festival in the Bay Area. In some ways, it’s the West Coast’s version of Movement or ARC.
Some of the biggest bookings this year include LCD Soundsystem, who will also bring the SF debut of Despacio—a dedicated disco ballroom experience hosted by frontman James Murphy and 2ManyDJs.
2000s pop icon Christina Aguilera will also be at Portola, joining a stacked Saturday lineup with Caribou, Bob Moses, Villager, Anti Up, and Mau P.
The Chemical Brothers are making a much-anticipated return as well. This time, they’ll be playing in the warehouse, compared to their main stage closing set at the very first Portola in 2022.
Sunday will feature Moby’s Portola debut with a live performance of his classic album Play—his first San Francisco appearance in over ten years.
Once again, they’ve pulled off a solid lineup, and we can’t wait to be back.
