Avicii earns two posthumous nominations for 2020 Billboard Music Awards

In June of 2019, the first—and potentially only—posthumous project from the Avicii archives was assembled at the hands of his collaborators. More than one full calendar turn later, TIM is still just as relevant now as it was in 2019, with Avicii himself and the posthumous LP earning several nominations in the 2020 Billboard Music Awards’ “Dance/Electronic” category.

The 12-track album, which already tallied back-to-back wins at the Swedish Grammis earlier this year, sits beside fellow full-length releases including Illenium’s Ascend, The Chainsmokers‘ World War Joy, and more. Avicii also joins DJ Snake, Illenium, The Chainsmokers, and Marshmello in his candidacy for Billboard’s most-recognized Dance/Electronic producer over the past year.

Hosted by Kelly Clarkson, the 2020 Billboard Music Awards are scheduled to take place at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles on October 14, and will begin at 8:00 p.m. EST / 5:00 p.m.
