Barack Obama shares summer 2020 playlist: Mac Miller, Khruangbin, Outkast, Anderson .Paak, and more

Having made his “best-of” playlists a yearly tradition, Barack Obama is due for another tastemaker delivery; but, before that, the 44th President of the United States has unveiled a mid-point treat for worldwide listeners. Obama took to socials to share his favorite songs from the past few months, curating a selection of both fresh and older picks as well as highlighting a handful of artists set to perform at the ongoing Democratic National Convention.

The former president’s music preferences have been notoriously respected for their genre-fluid diversity and eclectic nods, with his best of 2019 playlist featuring J.Cole, Frank Ocean, Ozuna, Bruce Springsteen, KAYTRANADA, and more. For this year’s summer edition, his discerning eye persists, spotlighting new hits including Khruangbin and Leon Bridges‘ “Texas Sun,” Mac Miller‘s Disclosure-assisted “Blue World,” Anderson .Paak‘s “Lockdown,” Frank Ocean’s “Cayendo,” and more. Classic tunes also grace the playlist, with cuts from Outkast, Nas, Billie Holiday, Chet Baker, Otis Redding, and more.
