Deeper Purpose hits ‘Activate’ on return to Repopulate Mars

A requested ID from a John Summit set receiving a release has become a tale as old as time. For Deeper Purpose, that’s nothing new. In 2022, the London native made the rounds in Summit’s sets with “Party Diva”—his debut on Off The Grid Records—and in 2023, that pattern has been renewed with “Activate.” And it’s officially out via Lee Foss’ Repopulate Mars.

“Activate” realizes a Repopulate Mars release trifecta for Deeper Purpose, trailing his two-for-one EP Manipulation in 2019 as well as “The System” the following year. It only took one trip through a Summit tracklist for “Activate” to climb up the Shazam ranks after the Off The Grid boss set it loose during his Miami Music Week closing party—also rinsed during Dom Dolla’s Printworks set—at Factory Town.  And “Activate”—his second release of the year after “Shake It”—builds on Deeper Purpose’s springy, hypnotic style of tech-house, with all the makings to become a guaranteed tracklist accessory as festival season warms up.
