Dom Dolla helps Nelly Furtado end a five-year hiatus with hotly anticipated crossover, ‘Eat Your Man’

Ending a five-year hiatus since her last single, long-time pop icon Nelly Furtado has teamed up with Dom Dolla for a dance-pop crossover. First teased during Dom Dolla’s back-to-back with Green Velvet at Project Glow and then used as his opener during both nights at The Brooklyn Mirage, “Eat Your Man” had quickly become one of the most-awaited IDs of the past month or so. And one of dance music’s most recognizable names and Dancing Astronaut‘s former Breakout Artist of the Year is following up a run of singles—which included “Rhyme Dust” and “Miracle Maker”—for a meeting with Furtado on “Eat Your Man.”

Out now through a trio of record labels including Three Six Zero recordings, Ministry of Sound, and Sony Music, “Eat Your Man” bridges early 2000s nostalgia with one of the leading sounds in the house space, showcasing Furtado’s veteran vocal depth and Dom Dolla’s deep, bouncy house touch. Coming as a unique track that’s anchored with a never-ending bassline, Furtado’s voice hovers over the beat drop for an uninterrupted wave of energy. The partnership between Dom Dolla and Furtado first began on New Year’s eve when the two artists performed together at Australia’s Beyond the Valley Festival. Hinting at what was to come in the future, Furtado’s live performance was her first in five years, eventually leading to her collaboration with Dom Dolla. Following the festival, the two began writing and working on “Eat Your Man” after the singer expressed interest in being part of club record, with Dom Dolla adding that “she’s the nicest pop star I’ve met thus far and is a joy to work with.” Stream “Eat Your Man” below.
