Download and play with thousands of royalty-free samples from the Library of Congress

Citizen DJ is a project by Brian Foo in the form of a website, where hundreds of thousands of archived audio samples are uploaded so users can download them and do what they please with these royalty-free audio snippets. The program implemented by the Library of Congress gives users an interactive audio map to play with the samples and use them inside the program, or users can simply download them and use the sounds in their DAW.

Sounds available include motion picture audio, interviews snippets from a variety of celebrities, free music, and much more. The majority of the samples are not very long to encourage sequencing and beat-making over the longer sample phrasing made popular in hip-hop. Click here to try it out.
