Hardwell, Maddix lengthen co-remix streak with update of 4 Strings’ trance classic, ‘Take Me Away’

Hardwell had made it loud and clear a number of times that Rebels Never Die was never going to be finish line to the musical wing of his comeback blueprint. After supplementing Dancing Astronaut‘s 2022 Album of the Year with its deluxe expansion towards the end of last year, Hardwell solidified a long overdue reunion with Maddix to move forward with his 2023 plans. But their co-remix of “Satisfaction” wasn’t the only thing they’d work on, with a reimagining of 4 Strings’ 2001 classic “Take Me Away” now coming to the release surface.

Quietly debuted during the Revealed Recordings boss’ trip to Romania for Untold Festival back in August of 2022, Hardwell and Maddix’s “Take Me Away” modernization—formally titled “Take Me Away Again”—fast forwards the seminal trance anthem more than two decades into the future. And the duo travel back to just a year prior to Benny Benassi‘s 2002 single, taking 4 String’s original that helped define an era of trance and giving it a modern-day infusion of bigroom, techno, and—of course—trance that will without question set Bayfront Park on fire come March if it becomes a part of either of their tracklists.
