Kaskade and deamau5 to bring Kx5 to the Los Angeles Coliseum

Dance music giants from the early 2010’s are experiencing a strong resurgence this year with headlines like the return of Swedish House Mafia, Hardwell‘s Ultra comeback, and of course the launch of Kaskade and deadmau5‘s joint venture, Kx5. And what better site for Kx5 to take over than the host venue of EDC‘s final LA run in 2010, the hallowed Los Angeles Coliseum. While many know the Coliseum to be the home of USC Trojans football, to the southern California dance circuit, the venue is so much more.

Strategically choosing a venue in the heart of Los Angeles following Kaskade’s 2021 SoFi stadium show, the pair of veteran producers will return to the Coliseum for the first time in 12 years, since they last closed out a raucous Friday night at EDC in 2010. And while the duo is likely to host a handful of tentpole performances, the Los Angeles date is only the second announced show for Kx5 following EDC Las Vegas. On Twitter, Kaskade has explained that Kx5’s performance will not be a back-to-back set, but rather considered a live show, as deadmau5 rarely plays on CDJs, thus promising a more live-feel atmosphere.

Recently, deadmau5 shared in an exclusive interview with Dancing Astronaut “I’m just happy to be working with my good friend Ryan again and getting out there and sharing our creative manifestations with the world,” giving fans the first inside look at the project with their debut joint single, “Escape.” While “Escape” is their first single under the Kx5 alias, the duo have confirmed they have at least nine more tracks under the hood.

Pre-sale tickets to Kx5’s highly anticipated Los Angeles Coliseum performance are available on April 5 at 12:00 p.m. ET (9:00 a.m. PT).
