Multiple sclerosis charity changes name of 'Couch-ella' benefit event per request of Coachella's legal team

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Trust, a UK-based multiple sclerosis charity, is still set to host the online fundraiser previously known as “MS Trust Couch-ella Home Festival,” but has notably renamed the virtual event at the request of Coachella‘s legal team. The online festival, which will host comedy, music, yoga, and dance acts, has since been rebranded as the “MS Trust Home Festival.”

David Martin, MS Trust’s chief executive explained that Coachella personnel reached out and requested the name change for the sake of “avoiding [confusion].” Speaking on the situation, Martin said,

“Half of me thought, ‘Shall we take them head-on?’ But in reality when lawyers get involved, it costs a lot and we didn’t want to waste any of the charity’s money.”

The MS Trust is an institution that not only provides the public with free and credible information about multiple sclerosis, but also assists in the crucial training and funding of MS specialist nurses. All donations made to MS Trust Home Festival will support these initiatives. Learn more about and purchase a ticket for the August 22 event here.
