STAR SEED make welcome Lowly. debut on ‘ANIMA’ with Shadow Wanderer

STAR SEED are continuing to expand upon their world of refreshing bass music on their newest original and first standalone release of the year. Delivered alongside Shadow Wanderer. “ANIMA” marks the experimental electronic duo and former Dancing Astronaut Artist to Watch’s first-ever release on Lowly., also arriving complete with a mesmerizing visual piece via the label’s YouTube channel.

Known for their refusal to be bound by a singular genre or sound, STAR SEED unfailingly impress with their varying soundscapes and stellar production quality. Be it the genres of bass, house, psytrance or something in between, they never fall short with their creative approach to dance music. And “ANIMA”—with its fusion of chill electronic and bass elements—is just the latest example in an ever-growing run of releases. The collaboration was born utilizing magenta AI and their software “transformer” to generate seemingly random MIDI patterns before they patched their hardware synths cohesively to correlate to the MIDI. They then generated the animation featured in the video using disco diffusion with what STAR SEED labeled “a somewhat comedic” prompting of lyrics in “Africa” by Toto.

January was the month of label firsts for STAR SEED, who are on the heels of their previous single “11:11” via mau5trap‘s latest we are friends compilation, which also comes a month after they closed out 2022 with their melodic house single on NIGHTMODE, “Bleeding Out.” Listen to STAR SEED and Shadow Wanderer’s “Anima” below.
