Team USA figure skaters compete to Daft Punk’s ‘Random Access Memories’

With the winter Olympics in full force and all of the world’s snow-driven athletes competing in Beijing, three-time United States figure skating free dance team champions Madison Chock and Evan Bates took to the ice to the soundtrack of Daft Punk‘s Random Access Memories. “Contact,” “Touch, ” and “Within” served as the music for their stunning display, which wound up winning the team a silver medal.

During the routine, Bates portrayed an astronaut while Chock performed as an extra-terrestrial. With elaborate spins and tall lifts, both skaters managed to glide effortlessly on the ice, their dance the only aspect that could upstage their unique soundtrack.

Daft Punk famously announced their break-up last year after 28 years of working together. This January marked the 25th anniversary of the duo’s landmark album, Homework.
