The Avalanches officially announce third album, 'We Will Always Love You'

The Avalanches have formally announced their long-awaited third studio album, We Will Always Love You. “An exploration of the vibrational relationship between light, sound, and spirit,” the forthcoming album takes influence from vast universe of space and notably features NASA’s Creative Director of Voyager Interstellar Message Project, Ann Druyan, in the cover art.

The Australian sampledelia act first revealed that the Wildflower follow-up was near completion in July, simultaneously delivering the forthcoming full-length LP for mastering while celebrating the fourth anniversary of their second album.

Deriving inspiration from Druyan’s “cosmic love story,” which saw her lead the initiative to fire gold-plated phonograph records into space aboard the Voyager 1 and Voyager 2, We Will Always Love You encompasses the theme of “everlasting love as an undying vibration.” Prior to the announcement, The Avalanches shared two galactic-toned singles, “Wherever You Go” and “Reflecting Light.” Still without a release date, the album will be available for pre-order soon.

We’re very happy to share with you the cover for our new album, “We Will Always Love You”. Designed by our dear friend Jonathan Zawada, the sleeve features Ann Druyan, (Creative Director of the Voyager Golden Record Project) , who’s cosmic love story inspired this music. In keeping with the album’s theme of everlasting love as an undying vibration, Ann’s image was run through a spectograph, turned into sound, and back again. The image remains hidden, deep within in the grooves of the music, for you to discover if you wish. An exploration of the vibrational relationship between light, sound and spirit, “We Will Always Love You” will be available for pre-order next week, with more details to follow soon.
