Fresh out of the 2023 gate, Jauz and Zeds Dead deliver a throwback melodic dubstep track that crackles with Nicole Millar’s breathy vocals. Arriving jointly on Deadbeats and Bite This, “S.O.S.” is a staticky bass weapon with a gentle, hypnotic touch and marks their third time crossing paths. Packing an invariable punch, the third collaboration between Zeds Dead and Jauz makes it clear why the dance deities continue to rendezvous. Both entities have made watershed strides in their respective niches, but take on whole new life alongside eachother.
“S.O.S” is only the most recent track in these efforts, with both projects providing meticulously curated sets across the country—together and on their own. Still riding the momentum of “Ecstasy of Soul,” their collaboration with GRiZ, Zeds Dead have made it clear they’re not pulling punches in 2023, and what’s yet to come will defy genre lines as usual.
