Armin van Buuren has released a different kind of ear candy than what listeners are accustomed to—luxury wireless headphones, designed in partnership with JBL. The JBL Club One Headphones, which retail at $349.95, were more than 18 months in the making, according to van Buuren, who worked with the audio manufacturer on every facet of the headphones’ development, from their matte black finish to their transmission of sound.
“As a DJ, my music is all about sound quality. I worked with JBL’s audio specialists to create something totally new: sleek headphones that have amazing sound clarity, a very comfortable fit and of course, big bass,” says van Buuren.
Specifically, the JBL Club One Headphones offer users access to voice-activated settings, 50 hours of playback, and True Adaptive Noise Cancellation, an adaptive new JBL technology that surveys environmental background sounds 50,000 times per second to obstruct exterior noise. Marketed as JBL’s “best noise cancelling headphone yet,” the Club One is also equipped with a SilentNow button that users can press for “complete noise isolation.”
