Few artists manage to leave such mark on the world in such a short time the way Avicii did. Even still, three years after Tim Bergling‘s death, his work as Avicii still permeates throughout the culture of electronic music while fans continue to celebrate his lasting impact. Now, Tomorrowland has announced that Avicii’s iconic hit “Levels” has become the Tomorrowland Top 1000 hit for the second year running. Speaking on the honor, Avicii’s father, Klas Bergling said,
“This is fantastic and I feel very honored. It’s his piece, work and personality, so it’s amazing. I’m very grateful and it makes me very emotional. I want to give all the People of Tomorrow a big hug!”
In total, Avicii had 21 tracks listed on Tomorrowland’s Top 1000, with “Seek Bromance,” a track released under Avicii’s real name, Tim Bergling, sitting at number eight. Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike‘s “Mammoth” sits at a close second on the list, with Swedish House Mafia and John Martin‘s “Don’t You Worry Child” landing third.
Martin Garrix‘s “High On Life,” Armin van Buuren‘s “Blah Blah Blah,” Sebastian Ingrosso, Tommy Trash, and John Martin‘s “Reload,” Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and Martin Garrix’s “Tremor,” Tim Bergling’s “Seek Bromance,” Afrojack and Martin Garrix’s “Turn Up The Speakers” and Steve Aoki‘s remix of Kid Cudi‘s “Pursuit Of Happiness” round out the Top 10.
Tomorrowland has hopes to return to its in-person event in August and September this year, while an online iteration of the festival will take place during the festival’s usual annual dates in July. The online festival, Tomorrowland Around the World, had been Mix Session‘s favorite online events of 2020, and will host six stages filled with many of Tomorrowland’s favorite artists.
Tomorrowland also honored Avicii on the anniversary of his passing with a day-long tribute showcasing videos from his most iconic performances. Meanwhile, Sweden continues to celebrate Avicii, and has recently renamed one of the county’s most-listed venues, Ericsson Globe, the Avicii Arena.
